  His Purpose is a Christian praise band who got their start at Bethany Baptist Church in Cochran, Georgia. The band’s thoughtful lyrics and refreshing gospel melodies express their faith and love of Jesus Christ. Allen Brantley, the band’s lead male vocalist, stated, "We each have a desire to play and sing for the Glory of God not for self-gain. We aren’t out to make the big time, we just want to use the talent the God gave us." Some of the songs performed by the band are: "Blessed Assurance", "Will the Circle Be Unbroken", “How Great Is Our God”, “Three Wooden Crosses”, and “Lord We Worship You”. “We try to sing songs that will appeal to and bless all ages,” says Allen. HIS Purpose’s musical style is a combination of the modern and the traditional. Their songs convey a mixture of messages with one truth, the REAL TRUTH.
HIS Purpose is backed up with talented guitarists and percussion. HIS Purpose members combine their distinctive voices to form a new flavor of music which is raw and energetic. The band is comprised of Cochran natives and Bethany Baptist Church members. The male vocalist is Allen Brantley; Sheila Brantley and Lisa Crosby are the female vocalists. They are accompanied by four very talented musicians, Ann Bennett on drums, Mike Barbee as lead guitarist, Jim Couch, rhythm guitarist and Troy Evans who plays bass guitar. Allen Brantley states, “Troy had never even held a bass guitar before, but went out and bought one and learned how to play just to be part of the band. Wow, that still blows me away.”
 
 
   />When asked about their history, the HIS Purpose members agree that they have each had some experience performing, but it is God who brought them together to form this group. As they allow God to use them, He is revealing and developing talents that they themselves did not even know they had. The band often performs at Bethany Baptist Church, and they recently traveled to Glasgow, Kentucky to play at a benefit concert along with three other bands. The band will be performing at an event in April which will be held at the Hillside Bluegrass Park in Cochran. HIS Purpose is working hard and gaining popularity as they bring our community quality, meaningful Christian music.
